One-week Certification Courses

In order to reduce the training costs for our northern communities, the Centre will be offering one-week certification courses beginning in 2012.

This will save on expenses incurred by First Nations, reduce the length of time an operator would be away from home and work, and provide an opportunity to have more operators take advantage of the training programs offered at the Centre.

Operators wanting to acquire their OIT (Operator-in-Training) certification can write their Class 1 exam and submit a form upon passing to have their OIT issued. The operators would be issued with the relevant OIT certificate on passing until they have passed their Entry Level Certification (for Water) and gained their 1 year of hands-on experience.  At that point they can upgrade to the level one (having already passed the exam).
Check our calendar for course dates and deadlines for applications.
